October 1, 2024–Symphony of the Hills will start its 2024-2025 season highlighting “the passion of Spain” when it presents “Bolero!” on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Cailloux Theater in Kerrville. The concert begins at 7:00 pm with a pre-concert wine reception for ticket holders at 6:00 pm.
The symphony will perform the passionate music of some of the world’s greatest composers of Spanish music: Villa Lobos, Rodrigo, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Ravel, including his well-known work Bolero.

Villa-Lobos – Bachianas Brasileras #5
-Sarah Davis, soprano solo
Rodrigo – Concierto de Aranjuez
-Isaac Bustos, guitar
Rimsky-Korsakov – Capriccio Espagnole
Ravel – Bolero
Isaac Bustos, a classical guitarist who is a professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio, will play Rodrigo’s Concierto Aranjuez, the most popular guitar concerto in the repertoire. Bustos has performed internationally, appeared on radio and television, and won top prizes in over 12 major competitions.
Sarah Davis, will handle the soprano solo for Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileras #5. Davis has performed concert and operatic roles around the world, as well as working with area groups such as Camerata San Antonio and the Tivy High School Choir.

The 75-piece Symphony of the Hills provides live performance of symphonic music in the Texas Hill Country, with special attention to fostering music appreciation among area youth.
