Edgar Wallace named Board Member Emeritus

Oct 11, 2024–Dr. Tim Summerlin, President of the board of trustees of the Symphony of the Hills Association, has announced the declaration of Edgar Wallace as a Symphony of the Hills Association Board Director Emeritus.

Whereas, Edgar Wallace has been a mainstay of the Symphony of the Hills,

  • Serving from 2001 to 2024 on the SOHA Board;
  • A founding director and author of its Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws;
  • Author of the articles of the Permanent Endowment Fund of the SOHA;
  • Serving at various times as an officer of the SOHA Board of Directors;
  • Along with John Blanks, creating the Concert Sponsorship concept to secure additional support for the Symphony;
  • Serving as the major solicitor of sponsors for a decade, thus contributing to the financial health of the Symphony;
  • Working with numerous foundations and other entities to secure grants for support of the Symphony;
  • Regularly providing his thoughtful counsel and amiable personality to board meetings and retreats;
  • Finding the time to lend his talents as a Symphony performer on the violin throughout his years on the board, thus modeling a comprehensive love of the arts for the community;

Resolved, the SOHA Board on this 11th day of June, 2024, names Edgar Wallace a Symphony of the Hills Association Board Director Emeritus.
